Spectrum-X Photonics and Quantum-X Photonics are NVIDIA’s lines of network switches that implement co-packaged optics. They were debuted at GTC25 and will come in two flavors: Ethernet and InfiniBand.

Quantum-X800 (Q3400-RA)

Quantum-X800 (Q3400-RA) is NVIDIA’s 144-port XDR InfiniBand switch with pluggable optics. The datasheet is here: Q3200-RA/Q3400-RA XDR 800Gb/s InfiniBand Switch Systems User Manual

Quantum-X Photonics (Q3450-LD)

Quantum-X Photonics is NVIDIA’s first CPO switch and supports 144 ports of 800G XDR InfiniBand using a 200G serdes.1 Lambda was one of the first GPUaaS providers to deploy this in production alongside GB300 NVL72 in June 2026.2

These switches are 4U with:2

  • 144x MPO connectors
  • Liquid cooled
  • 18 laser modules for 144 800G ports (8 ports per module)

NVIDIA had a Quantum-X Photonics switch on display at GTC25:

Spectrum-X Photonics

NVIDIA’s Ethernet switch, Spectrum-X Photonics, will ship in 2025. There will be two switch variants:1

  • 128x 800G or 512x 200G
  • 512x 800G or 2048x 200G
