Mission is the follow-on to Crossroads (ATS-4) at Los Alamos National Laboratory which will be delivered in 2027.1 Strangely, it is marketed as the follow-on to Venado, which is LANL’s GH200 Cray EX system.
It will use Vera CPUs, Rubin GPUs, and XDR InfiniBand. Integration is being done by HPE, but the inclusion of InfiniBand suggests this is not a Cray GX system.
A supercomputer named Vision was also announced with Mission, but little was said other than it “builds on the achievements of LANL’s Venado supercomputer, built for unclassified research.” Maybe this implies that it is a GH200 Cray EX254n for unclassified work?
