HPE Cray Supercomputing Storage Systems K3000 is HPE’s DAOS appliance to be sold alongside GX5000. It was first announced alongside the Discovery system.1
According to Chris Mellor,2 it is composed of 1U HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 general-purpose servers, each with two Intel Granite Rapids CPUs and 20 E3.S NVMe drive bays. There will be four DAOS node SKUs:
- 8 SSDs per node
- 12 SSDs per node
- 16 SSDs per node
- 20 SSDs per node (capacity-optimized config)
And each SSD can be 3.84 TB, 7.68 TB, and 15.4 TB.2
Each rack then has:
- Between 4 to 40 nodes (RDHX required for 40-node racks)
- Average 20 nodes per rack
- Up to 75M IOPS1
- Up to 12.32 PB raw ()
